Our Story It all started in 2005 when my husband David and I relocated our family (2 dogs and 2 cats) from Reno to Central Oregon in an effort to slow down and spend more time outdoors ( not in traffic). As animal lovers we wanted to start a pet related business that encompassed eco-friendly products and healthy food and treats unique to Bend. Along the way we discovered how little accurate information on pet nutrition there is available to the public. It was disheartening to find such inconsistency in published literature which discussed the best foods for your dog/cat. It was then we knew that we could at least lend a helping hand to those confused about pet nutrition. We do the research on food, manufacturing companies/practices, and the latest trends out there so you don't have to! Healthy Paws is a family owned, independently operated dog and cat specialty/supply store located in beautiful, dog friendly Bend, Oregon. Our mission is to provide the best dog and cat products, locally when available, that are unique to the area but are also highly durable and functional. We strive to find eco-friendly products ( recycled material, durable, organic or natural, and products that are regional so they don't have to be transported from far away.) The foods we carry exceed our standards for excellence in pet nutrition. We specialize in raw and grain free diets, many varieties. Of course, our products have to meet our rigid selection criteria- we won't bring just anything in because we think it will sell. It needs to be unique and the companies have to be reputable.
